Architectural theory is a complicated yet fascinating subject; many theories and periods conflict with each other. This book allows you to see how different periods came about, what influenced certain architects to practice the way they did, in turn inspiring another architect to divert the path to a new period in architectural history.
A great place to start. Lays out some architectural theory and opinions. Not too detailed, but a worthwhile investment. This book is required reading in most Architecture programs as it was in mine.
A great book for my daughter.
Must have text for architecture students.
I only needed this book for a paper but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.It made a great addition to my library. Some texts were slightly confusing to grasp so I had to go over them again to fully understand all the details but atleast every passage has a short introduction at the beginning that summarizes the main idea, there by making it easier to understand.
A nice book. Worth to buy it.
